Rules

The rule booklet can be freely downloaded here (.pdf ~ opens in new window). It is recommended that this is only used for on screen viewing due to the color complexity.

Alternatively the booklet is reproduced, fully, in a printer friendly format, which can be found here (opens in a new window).

Three Player Chess uses the same basic movement techniques as found in the traditional two player rendition. In a sense the only confusion arises when we look the the centre of the board - in particular the middle six ‘squares’ - and the ending.

Basics Rules

  1. If you are moving in any diagniol direction you must finish on the same colour that you started on.
  2. Hence if you move one square, either horiziontally or vertically, you can not finish on the colour you started at.
  3. There can only be one winner - either play till the bitter end or, shorter, the first person to check mate someone wins.

These are the most basic instructions, if you are new to Three Player Chess we strongly recommend that you read the full booklet.
